Hinton Dentists Proud to offer 3D Imaging with i-CAT CT Scan

CT Scan

Our Hinton Dentists now have the i-CAT FLX CT Scanner to allow 3D viewing of important anatomy for precise treatment planning for implants, oral surgery, wisdom teeth extractions, TMJ and sinuses, root canals, and orthodontics.  This technology in diagnosing, planning and monitoring of treatments assist our clinicians.

The i-CAT CT Scanner produces high definition 3D diagnostic images and provides aid in diagnosing by capturing each patient’s unique anatomy and treatment progress.

Digital X-ray Technology

Digital radiography eliminates the need for traditional dental film by providing images immediately, so there is no need to wait around for one to develop! In addition, the quality and size of the digital image are far superior to film. Digital radiography also exposes you to less radiation than traditional film. Larger images, combined with computer tools, let our doctors highlight certain problem areas onscreen so that patients can see them. This aids patient education and is just one of the many ways that you are involved in the treatment planning process!

Intra-Oral Camera

Intra-oral cameras allow us to take images of your teeth, which are then used in conjunction with digital x-rays to help us understand which type of treatment is just right for you.

Odyssey Diode Laser:  Laser Tissue Therapy

Laser therapy is another tool we’re using..With laser, we’re able to offer invasive alternatives to procedures that require scalpel incisions. This is because lasers provide more precise control over the depth and extent of cutting, thereby minimizing the amount of bleeding.

Some of the most popular uses for lasers include periodontal therapy and dental surgery, among others. When used for periodontal therapy, laser surgery lets out patients gently remove disease tissue to improve tissue response and reduce periodontal pocket depths.

When used for dental surgery, laser therapy lets our doctors safely and gently

  • Remove tumors
  • Expose unerupted teeth
  • Complete frenectomies
  • Remove excess tissue
  • Place dental implants
  • Drain abscesses
  • Treat canker sores, Herpes lesions, and other types of mouth ulcer

But these are just a few examples!  If you’d like to learn more about laser therapy, call our office today to schedule a visit with one of our doctors at Foothills Dental Centre!
